In 2012, Russia’s trade with India totaled $10,604,095,250, up 19.60% ($1,737,776,033) from 2011.

Russia’s exports to India in 2012 totaled $7,563,325,915, up 24.40% ($1,483,490,235) from 2011.

Russia’s imports from India in 2012 totaled $3,040,769,335, up 9.13% ($254,285,798) from 2011.

Russia’s trade surplus with India in 2012 was $4,522,556,580, a 37.32% increase ($1,229,204,437) over 2011.

India was Russia’s 19th largest trading partner in 2012 (up from 23rd in 2011), accounting for 1.2594% of Russia’s total trade (up from 1.0780% in 2011).

India was Russia’s 18th largest export market in 2012 (up from 23rd in 2011), accounting for 1.4414% of Russia’s total exports (up from 1.1766% in 2011).

India was Russia’s 24th largest supplier in 2012 (up from 25th in 2011), accounting for 0.9584% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.9113% in 2011).

Russia’s Exports to India

The major share of Russian exports to India in 2012 (and in 2011) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 36.94% of Russia’s total exports to India (24.34% in 2011);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 17.97% of Russia’s total exports to India (17.53% in 2011);
  • Precious metals and stones (HS code 71) - 9.91% of Russia’s total exports to India (11.83% in 2011);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 9.66% of Russia’s total exports to India (10.37% in 2011);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 4.06% of Russia’s total exports to India (5.74% in 2011);
