Russia’s Trade with Cuba
In 2014, Russia’s trade with Cuba was $162,988,171, down 11.95% ($22,122,458) from 2013.
Russia’s exports to Cuba in 2014 were $101,189,487, down 35.75% ($56,305,901) from 2013.
Russia’s imports from Cuba in 2014 totaled $61,798,684, up 123.78% ($34,183,443) from 2013.
Russia’s trade surplus with Cuba in 2014 was $39,390,803, a 69.67% decrease ($90,489,344) over 2013.
Cuba was Russia’s 103rd largest trading partner in 2014 (down from 99th in 2013), accounting for 0.0208% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0220% in 2013).
Cuba was Russia’s 97th largest export market in 2014 (down from 91st in 2013), accounting for 0.0204% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0299% in 2013).
Cuba was Russia’s 91st largest supplier in 2014 (up from 101st in 2013), accounting for 0.0216% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0088% in 2013).
Russia’s Exports to Cuba
The major share of Russian exports to Cuba in 2014 (and in 2013) was accounted for the following product types:
- Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 47.85% of Russia’s total exports to Cuba (72.58% in 2013);
- Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 14.38% of Russia’s total exports to Cuba (12.55% in 2013);
- Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 7.05% of Russia’s total exports to Cuba (5.54% in 2013);
- Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 6.33% of Russia’s total exports to Cuba (0.03% in 2013);
- Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 6.21% of Russia’s total exports to Cuba (3.91% in 2013);

- Fertilizers (HS code 31) - an increase of $3,888,443;
- Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $1,041,735;
- Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $479,922.
The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Cuba in 2014 over 2013 were recorded for the following product groups:

- Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $20,925,466;
