Russia’s Trade with Pakistan
In the 2nd quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Pakistan was $80,436,156, down 20.64% ($20,916,098) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.
Russia’s exports to Pakistan in the 2nd quarter of 2016 totaled $30,936,938, up 4.11% ($1,220,342) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.
Russia’s imports from Pakistan in the 2nd quarter of 2016 were $49,499,218, down 30.90% ($22,136,440) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.
Russia’s trade deficit with Pakistan in the 2nd quarter of 2016 was $18,562,280, a 55.72% decrease ($23,356,782) over the 2nd quarter of 2015.
Pakistan was Russia’s 82nd largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (down from 79th in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0739% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0743% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).
Pakistan was Russia’s 87th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (up from 95th in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0466% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0325% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).
Pakistan was Russia’s 65th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (down from 57th in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.1168% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.1599% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).
Russia’s Exports to Pakistan
The major share of Russian exports to Pakistan in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:
- Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 37.42% of Russia’s total exports to Pakistan (35.37% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
- Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 21.98% of Russia’s total exports to Pakistan (26.76% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
- Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 19.10% of Russia’s total exports to Pakistan (14.80% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
- Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 11.39% of Russia’s total exports to Pakistan (12.19% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
- Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 5.70% of Russia’s total exports to Pakistan (5.29% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
- Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 4.18% of Russia’s total exports to Pakistan (2.86% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

- Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - an increase of $612,147;
- Coffee, tea, maté and spices (HS code 09) - an increase of $572,921;
- Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - an increase of $429,496;
- Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $412,725;
