Russia’s Trade with Azerbaijan

In the 3rd quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Azerbaijan was $464,071,364, down 29.32% ($192,548,235) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Azerbaijan in the 3rd quarter of 2016 were $394,317,137, down 27.46% ($149,255,414) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Azerbaijan in the 3rd quarter of 2016 were $69,754,227, down 38.30% ($43,292,821) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade surplus with Azerbaijan in the 3rd quarter of 2016 was $324,562,910, a 24.61% decrease ($105,962,593) over the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Azerbaijan was Russia’s 45th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 36th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.3806% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.5174% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Azerbaijan was Russia’s 39th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 32nd in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.5481% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.6835% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Azerbaijan was Russia’s 60th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 50th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.1396% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.2386% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Azerbaijan

The major share of Russian exports to Azerbaijan in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 38.13% of Russia’s total exports to Azerbaijan (26.94% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 12.03% of Russia’s total exports to Azerbaijan (13.09% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 11.66% of Russia’s total exports to Azerbaijan (7.47% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
