Russia’s Trade with Greece

In the 3rd quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Greece was $632,748,482, down 13.56% ($99,268,935) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Greece in the 3rd quarter of 2016 were $577,600,933, down 15.54% ($106,270,366) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Greece in the 3rd quarter of 2016 totaled $55,147,549, up 14.54% ($7,001,431) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade surplus with Greece in the 3rd quarter of 2016 was $522,453,384, a 17.82% decrease ($113,271,797) over the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Greece was Russia’s 38th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 32nd in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.5190% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.5768% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Greece was Russia’s 31st largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 24th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.8028% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.8599% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Greece was Russia’s 63rd largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (just as in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.1103% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.1016% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Greece

The major share of Russian exports to Greece in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 59.42% of Russia’s total exports to Greece (90.19% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 38.01% of Russia’s total exports to Greece (5.58% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 1.29% of Russia’s total exports to Greece (2.02% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Greece in the 3rd quarter of 2016 over the 3rd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Copper and articles thereof (HS code 74) - an increase of $154,422,340;
  • Zinc and articles thereof (HS code 79) - an increase of $20,762,024;
  • Lead and articles thereof (HS code 78) - an increase of $3,801,392.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Greece in the 3rd quarter of 2016 over the 3rd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $273,191,829;
