Russia’s Trade with Turkey

In the 3rd quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Turkey was $3,830,166,136, down 30.75% ($1,701,044,055) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Turkey in the 3rd quarter of 2016 were $3,410,777,325, down 24.78% ($1,123,592,809) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Turkey in the 3rd quarter of 2016 were $419,388,811, down 57.93% ($577,451,246) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade surplus with Turkey in the 3rd quarter of 2016 was $2,991,388,514, a 15.44% decrease ($546,141,563) over the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Turkey was Russia’s 9th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 6th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 3.1415% of Russia’s total trade (down from 4.3582% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Turkey was Russia’s 4th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (up from 5th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 4.7408% of Russia’s total exports (down from 5.7018% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Turkey was Russia’s 27th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 12th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.8392% of Russia’s total imports (down from 2.1035% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Turkey

The major share of Russian exports to Turkey in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 59.77% of Russia’s total exports to Turkey (64.33% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 24.16% of Russia’s total exports to Turkey (21.41% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
