Russia’s Trade with Tajikistan

In the 1st quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Tajikistan totaled $175,063,506, up 43.30% ($52,895,567) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Tajikistan in the 1st quarter of 2017 totaled $171,876,830, up 50.43% ($57,618,230) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Tajikistan in the 1st quarter of 2017 were $3,186,676, down 59.71% ($4,722,663) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Tajikistan in the 1st quarter of 2017 was $168,690,154, a 58.62% increase ($62,340,893) over the 1st quarter of 2016.

Tajikistan was Russia’s 63rd largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2017 (up from 71st in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.1362% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.1258% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

Tajikistan was Russia’s 53rd largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2017 (up from 59th in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.2062% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.1864% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

Tajikistan was Russia’s 110th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2017 (down from 93rd in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0070% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0221% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Tajikistan

The major share of Russian exports to Tajikistan in the 1st quarter of 2017 (and in the 1st quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 28.98% of Russia’s total exports to Tajikistan (19.13% in the 1st quarter of 2016);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 27.47% of Russia’s total exports to Tajikistan (36.23% in the 1st quarter of 2016);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 16.62% of Russia’s total exports to Tajikistan (18.29% in the 1st quarter of 2016);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 13.51% of Russia’s total exports to Tajikistan (11.20% in the 1st quarter of 2016);
