Russia’s Trade with Venezuela

In the 1st quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Venezuela was $13,628,913, down 86.13% ($84,610,937) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Venezuela in the 1st quarter of 2017 were $13,529,942, down 86.21% ($84,564,036) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Venezuela in the 1st quarter of 2017 were $98,971, down 32.15% ($46,901) from the 1st quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Venezuela in the 1st quarter of 2017 was $13,430,971, a 86.29% decrease ($84,517,135) over the 1st quarter of 2016.

Venezuela was Russia’s 121st largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2017 (down from 76th in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0106% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.1012% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

Venezuela was Russia’s 107th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2017 (down from 63rd in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0162% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.1601% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

Venezuela was Russia’s 147th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2017 (down from 139th in the 1st quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0002% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0004% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Venezuela

The major share of Russian exports to Venezuela in the 1st quarter of 2017 (and in the 1st quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 62.83% of Russia’s total exports to Venezuela (95.10% in the 1st quarter of 2016);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 29.65% of Russia’s total exports to Venezuela (1.38% in the 1st quarter of 2016);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 1.62% of Russia’s total exports to Venezuela (0.35% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Venezuela in the 1st quarter of 2017 over the 1st quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

Russia’s Imports from Venezuela

The major share of Russian imports from Venezuela in the 1st quarter of 2017 (and in the 1st quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 86.46% of Russia’s total imports from Venezuela (97.21% in the 1st quarter of 2016);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 13.37% of Russia’s total imports from Venezuela (2.78% in the 1st quarter of 2016).

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Venezuela in the 1st quarter of 2017 over the 1st quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Railway or tramway locomotives, rolling-stock and parts thereof; railway or tramway track fixtures and fittings and parts thereof; mechanical (including electro-mechanical) traffic signalling equipment of all kinds (HS code 86) - an increase of $7,642;
