Russia’s Trade with Egypt

In the 3rd quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Egypt totaled $1,665,432,520, up 151.68% ($1,003,702,816) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Egypt in the 3rd quarter of 2017 totaled $1,605,669,473, up 158.61% ($984,794,272) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Egypt in the 3rd quarter of 2017 totaled $59,763,047, up 46.28% ($18,908,544) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Egypt in the 3rd quarter of 2017 was $1,545,906,426, a 166.53% increase ($965,885,728) over the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Egypt was Russia’s 20th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (up from 36th in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 1.1392% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.5427% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Egypt was Russia’s 16th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (up from 29th in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 1.8811% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.8630% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Egypt was Russia’s 65th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (up from 71st in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0983% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0817% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Egypt

The major share of Russian exports to Egypt in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 24.37% of Russia’s total exports to Egypt (36.51% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 19.77% of Russia’s total exports to Egypt (4.41% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 11.23% of Russia’s total exports to Egypt (25.06% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 5.14% of Russia’s total exports to Egypt (14.54% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
