Russia’s Trade with Malaysia

In the 3rd quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Malaysia totaled $583,129,484, up 4.86% ($27,052,466) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Malaysia in the 3rd quarter of 2017 were $190,232,950, down 22.52% ($55,283,443) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Malaysia in the 3rd quarter of 2017 totaled $392,896,534, up 26.51% ($82,335,909) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade deficit with Malaysia in the 3rd quarter of 2017 was $202,663,584, a 211.58% increase ($137,619,352) over the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Malaysia was Russia’s 43rd largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (just as in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.3989% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.4561% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Malaysia was Russia’s 57th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (down from 49th in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.2229% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.3413% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Malaysia was Russia’s 31st largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (just as in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.6459% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.6214% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Malaysia

The major share of Russian exports to Malaysia in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 81.14% of Russia’s total exports to Malaysia (81.60% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 6.45% of Russia’s total exports to Malaysia (6.77% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 5.86% of Russia’s total exports to Malaysia (6.65% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
