Russia’s Trade with Vietnam

In the 3rd quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Vietnam totaled $1,417,819,352, up 57.58% ($518,068,227) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Vietnam in the 3rd quarter of 2017 totaled $536,049,591, up 194.17% ($353,823,356) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Vietnam in the 3rd quarter of 2017 totaled $881,769,761, up 22.89% ($164,244,871) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade deficit with Vietnam in the 3rd quarter of 2017 was $345,720,170, a 35.42% decrease ($189,578,485) over the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Vietnam was Russia’s 22nd largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (up from 28th in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.9699% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.7380% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Vietnam was Russia’s 33rd largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (up from 54th in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.6280% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.2533% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Vietnam was Russia’s 16th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (down from 14th in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 1.4496% of Russia’s total imports (up from 1.4357% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Vietnam

The major share of Russian exports to Vietnam in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 64.54% of Russia’s total exports to Vietnam (22.70% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 12.13% of Russia’s total exports to Vietnam (5.31% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 10.82% of Russia’s total exports to Vietnam (34.00% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
