Russia’s Trade with Bosnia and Herzegovina
In the 4th quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Bosnia and Herzegovina totaled $68,167,892, up 53.52% ($23,765,560) from the 4th quarter of 2016.
Russia’s exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 4th quarter of 2017 totaled $27,760,102, up 52.92% ($9,607,226) from the 4th quarter of 2016.
Russia’s imports from Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 4th quarter of 2017 totaled $40,407,790, up 53.94% ($14,158,334) from the 4th quarter of 2016.
Russia’s trade deficit with Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 4th quarter of 2017 was $12,647,688, a 56.21% increase ($4,551,108) over the 4th quarter of 2016.
Bosnia and Herzegovina was Russia’s 92nd largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2017 (up from 102nd in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0408% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0326% in the 4th quarter of 2016).
Bosnia and Herzegovina was Russia’s 97th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2017 (up from 104th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0270% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0217% in the 4th quarter of 2016).
Bosnia and Herzegovina was Russia’s 76th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2017 (up from 82nd in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0629% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0501% in the 4th quarter of 2016).
Russia’s Exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina
The major share of Russian exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 4th quarter of 2017 (and in the 4th quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:
- Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 43.14% of Russia’s total exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina (63.40% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
- Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 36.87% of Russia’s total exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina (12.73% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
- Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 6.87% of Russia’s total exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina (10.12% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
- Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 6.55% of Russia’s total exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina (0.74% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
- Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 0.95% of Russia’s total exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina (2.70% in the 4th quarter of 2016);

- Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - an increase of $166,191;
- Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - an increase of $104,461;
- Plastics and articles thereof (HS code 39) - an increase of $85,956.
The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 4th quarter of 2017 over the 4th quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:
- Pulp of wood or of other fibrous cellulosic material; waste and scrap of paper or paperboard (HS code 47) - a decrease of $321,334;
- Copper and articles thereof (HS code 74) - a decrease of $275,442;
