Russia’s Trade with Colombia
In the 4th quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Colombia was $79,590,655, down 36.91% ($46,553,996) from the 4th quarter of 2016.
Russia’s exports to Colombia in the 4th quarter of 2017 were $55,473,044, down 44.79% ($44,995,444) from the 4th quarter of 2016.
Russia’s imports from Colombia in the 4th quarter of 2017 were $24,117,611, down 6.07% ($1,558,552) from the 4th quarter of 2016.
Russia’s trade surplus with Colombia in the 4th quarter of 2017 was $31,355,433, a 58.08% decrease ($43,436,892) over the 4th quarter of 2016.
Colombia was Russia’s 90th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2017 (down from 81st in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0476% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0926% in the 4th quarter of 2016).
Colombia was Russia’s 83rd largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2017 (down from 71st in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0539% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.1198% in the 4th quarter of 2016).
Colombia was Russia’s 87th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2017 (down from 84th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0375% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0490% in the 4th quarter of 2016).
Russia’s Exports to Colombia
The major share of Russian exports to Colombia in the 4th quarter of 2017 (and in the 4th quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:
- Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 46.02% of Russia’s total exports to Colombia (81.62% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
- Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 29.67% of Russia’s total exports to Colombia (8.41% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
- Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 13.98% of Russia’s total exports to Colombia (2.22% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
- Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 5.11% of Russia’s total exports to Colombia (6.42% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
- Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 2.64% of Russia’s total exports to Colombia (0.27% in the 4th quarter of 2016).
The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Colombia in the 4th quarter of 2017 over the 4th quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

- Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $3,511,002;
- Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $2,272,509;
- Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - an increase of $1,051,966;
- Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $778,248;
- Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - an increase of $727,072;
