Russia’s Trade with Peru

In the 4th quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Peru was $87,423,871, down 14.58% ($14,919,202) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Peru in the 4th quarter of 2017 were $63,269,810, down 14.34% ($10,593,759) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Peru in the 4th quarter of 2017 were $24,154,061, down 15.19% ($4,325,443) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Peru in the 4th quarter of 2017 was $39,115,749, a 13.81% decrease ($6,268,316) over the 4th quarter of 2016.

Peru was Russia’s 85th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2017 (down from 84th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0523% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0751% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Peru was Russia’s 78th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2017 (down from 77th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0615% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0881% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Peru was Russia’s 86th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2017 (down from 79th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0376% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0543% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Peru

The major share of Russian exports to Peru in the 4th quarter of 2017 (and in the 4th quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 68.91% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (57.45% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 16.18% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (11.78% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 9.76% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (0.02% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 2.70% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (3.48% in the 4th quarter of 2016);

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $1,561,744;
  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - an increase of $314,207.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Peru in the 4th quarter of 2017 over the 4th quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $10,551,890;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $2,765,416;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - a decrease of $1,879,423;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - a decrease of $1,356,726;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $1,120,544;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - a decrease of $830,893;
  • Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - a decrease of $194,449.

Russia’s Imports from Peru

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 11.89% of Russia’s total imports from Peru (8.75% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
