Russia’s Trade with Sri Lanka

In the 4th quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Sri Lanka totaled $111,366,999, up 18.43% ($17,334,216) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Sri Lanka in the 4th quarter of 2017 totaled $25,933,399, up 49.38% ($8,572,525) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Sri Lanka in the 4th quarter of 2017 totaled $85,433,600, up 11.43% ($8,761,691) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade deficit with Sri Lanka in the 4th quarter of 2017 was $59,500,201, a 0.32% increase ($189,166) over the 4th quarter of 2016.

Sri Lanka was Russia’s 83rd largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2017 (up from 87th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0666% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0690% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Sri Lanka was Russia’s 102nd largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2017 (up from 105th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0252% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0207% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Sri Lanka was Russia’s 63rd largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2017 (down from 62nd in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.1329% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.1462% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - an increase of $751,611;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - an increase of $227,588;
  • Edible vegetables and certain roots and tubers (HS code 07) - an increase of $226,627.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Sri Lanka in the 4th quarter of 2017 over the 4th quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - a decrease of $1,974,482;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $128,875.
