Russia’s Trade with Uruguay
In the 4th quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Uruguay was $45,714,911, down 9.55% ($4,826,096) from the 4th quarter of 2016.
Russia’s exports to Uruguay in the 4th quarter of 2017 totaled $9,011,416, up 121.43% ($4,941,711) from the 4th quarter of 2016.
Russia’s imports from Uruguay in the 4th quarter of 2017 were $36,703,495, down 21.02% ($9,767,807) from the 4th quarter of 2016.
Russia’s trade deficit with Uruguay in the 4th quarter of 2017 was $27,692,079, a 34.69% decrease ($14,709,518) over the 4th quarter of 2016.
Uruguay was Russia’s 103rd largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2017 (down from 98th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0274% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0371% in the 4th quarter of 2016).
Uruguay was Russia’s 118th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2017 (up from 128th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0088% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0049% in the 4th quarter of 2016).
Uruguay was Russia’s 78th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2017 (down from 70th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0571% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0886% in the 4th quarter of 2016).
Russia’s Exports to Uruguay
The major share of Russian exports to Uruguay in the 4th quarter of 2017 (and in the 4th quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:
- Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 81.96% of Russia’s total exports to Uruguay (15.21% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
- Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 15.34% of Russia’s total exports to Uruguay (44.78% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
- Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.35% of Russia’s total exports to Uruguay (34.21% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
- Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 0.48% of Russia’s total exports to Uruguay (2.42% in the 4th quarter of 2016);

- Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - an increase of $178,653;
- Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - an increase of $108,439;
- Beverages, spirits and vinegar (HS code 22) - an increase of $38,227;
- Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $29,981.
The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Uruguay in the 4th quarter of 2017 over the 4th quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:
- Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - a decrease of $1,132,254;
- Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $619,105;
- Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - a decrease of $538,945;
- Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $166,404;
- Wool, fine or coarse animal hair; horsehair yarn and woven fabric (HS code 51) - a decrease of $67,650;
- Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $55,427.
