Russia’s Trade with Venezuela

In the 4th quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Venezuela was $27,377,819, down 82.01% ($124,817,660) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Venezuela in the 4th quarter of 2017 were $27,044,696, down 82.06% ($123,697,880) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Venezuela in the 4th quarter of 2017 were $333,123, down 77.07% ($1,119,780) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Venezuela in the 4th quarter of 2017 was $26,711,573, a 82.11% decrease ($122,578,100) over the 4th quarter of 2016.

Venezuela was Russia’s 116th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2017 (down from 74th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0164% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.1117% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Venezuela was Russia’s 99th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2017 (down from 66th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0263% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.1798% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Venezuela was Russia’s 141st largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2017 (down from 123rd in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0005% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0028% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Venezuela

The major share of Russian exports to Venezuela in the 4th quarter of 2017 (and in the 4th quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 81.43% of Russia’s total exports to Venezuela (7.49% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 13.88% of Russia’s total exports to Venezuela (44.33% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 1.94% of Russia’s total exports to Venezuela (1.94% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 1.76% of Russia’s total exports to Venezuela (0.36% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Venezuela in the 4th quarter of 2017 over the 4th quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - a decrease of $11,074,641;
  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - a decrease of $9,205,387;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $8,410,178;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - a decrease of $7,320,112;
  • Furniture; bedding, mattresses, mattress supports, cushions and similar stuffed furnishings; lamps and lighting fittings, not elsewhere specified or included; illuminated sign illuminated nameplates and the like; prefabricated buildings (HS code 94) - a decrease of $4,692,842;
  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $2,686,101;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - a decrease of $228,471;
  • Products of the milling industry; malt; starches; inulin; wheat gluten (HS code 11) - a decrease of $197,139.

Russia’s Imports from Venezuela

The major share of Russian imports from Venezuela in the 4th quarter of 2017 (and in the 4th quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 94.32% of Russia’s total imports from Venezuela (42.52% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 4.11% of Russia’s total imports from Venezuela (0.15% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 0.52% of Russia’s total imports from Venezuela (9.25% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 0.18% of Russia’s total imports from Venezuela (47.38% in the 4th quarter of 2016).
