Russia’s Trade with India

In the 1st quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with India totaled $2,286,089,046, up 16.96% ($331,535,701) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to India in the 1st quarter of 2018 totaled $1,537,011,668, up 19.63% ($252,165,552) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from India in the 1st quarter of 2018 totaled $749,077,378, up 11.85% ($79,370,149) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade surplus with India in the 1st quarter of 2018 was $787,934,290, a 28.09% increase ($172,795,403) over the 1st quarter of 2017.

India was Russia’s 17th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2018 (just as in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 1.4503% of Russia’s total trade (down from 1.5204% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

India was Russia’s 17th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2018 (up from 18th in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 1.4919% of Russia’s total exports (down from 1.5417% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

India was Russia’s 19th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2018 (down from 15th in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 1.3717% of Russia’s total imports (down from 1.4811% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

The major share of Russian exports to India in the 1st quarter of 2018 (and in the 1st quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Precious metals and stones (HS code 71) - 22.67% of Russia’s total exports to India (20.01% in the 1st quarter of 2017);
