Russia’s Trade with Singapore

In the 1st quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with Singapore was $816,757,849, down 32.33% ($390,175,574) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to Singapore in the 1st quarter of 2018 were $697,911,998, down 35.64% ($386,417,041) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from Singapore in the 1st quarter of 2018 were $118,845,851, down 3.07% ($3,758,533) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade surplus with Singapore in the 1st quarter of 2018 was $579,066,147, a 39.79% decrease ($382,658,508) over the 1st quarter of 2017.

Singapore was Russia’s 37th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2018 (down from 25th in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.5181% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.9389% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

Singapore was Russia’s 33rd largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2018 (down from 19th in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.6774% of Russia’s total exports (down from 1.3011% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

Singapore was Russia’s 55th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2018 (down from 47th in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.2176% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.2712% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

Russia’s Exports to Singapore

The major share of Russian exports to Singapore in the 1st quarter of 2018 (and in the 1st quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 93.19% of Russia’s total exports to Singapore (98.61% in the 1st quarter of 2017);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 4.91% of Russia’s total exports to Singapore (0.15% in the 1st quarter of 2017);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 1.09% of Russia’s total exports to Singapore (0.75% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Singapore in the 1st quarter of 2018 over the 1st quarter of 2017 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Ships, boats and floating structures (HS code 89) - an increase of $21,800,000;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $10,235,050.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Singapore in the 1st quarter of 2018 over the 1st quarter of 2017 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $417,249,395;
  • Natural or cultured pearls, precious or semi-precious stones,precious metals, metals clad with precious metal and articles thereof; imitation jewelry; coin (HS code 71) - a decrease of $3,114,698.
