Russia’s Trade with Sweden

In the 1st quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with Sweden totaled $1,389,951,259, up 36.50% ($371,670,580) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to Sweden in the 1st quarter of 2018 totaled $882,008,298, up 44.24% ($270,530,031) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from Sweden in the 1st quarter of 2018 totaled $507,942,961, up 24.86% ($101,140,549) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade surplus with Sweden in the 1st quarter of 2018 was $374,065,337, a 82.76% increase ($169,389,482) over the 1st quarter of 2017.

Sweden was Russia’s 24th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2018 (up from 27th in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.8818% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.7921% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

Sweden was Russia’s 28th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2018 (up from 31st in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.8561% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.7337% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

Sweden was Russia’s 25th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2018 (up from 27th in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.9301% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.8997% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

Russia’s Exports to Sweden

The major share of Russian exports to Sweden in the 1st quarter of 2018 (and in the 1st quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 77.74% of Russia’s total exports to Sweden (75.81% in the 1st quarter of 2017);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 17.13% of Russia’s total exports to Sweden (18.59% in the 1st quarter of 2017);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 1.53% of Russia’s total exports to Sweden (1.18% in the 1st quarter of 2017);
