Russia’s Trade with Uruguay

In the 1st quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with Uruguay totaled $39,219,644, up 23.63% ($7,496,753) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to Uruguay in the 1st quarter of 2018 were $2,609,317, down 37.52% ($1,567,118) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from Uruguay in the 1st quarter of 2018 totaled $36,610,327, up 32.90% ($9,063,871) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade deficit with Uruguay in the 1st quarter of 2018 was $34,001,010, a 45.49% increase ($10,630,989) over the 1st quarter of 2017.

Uruguay was Russia’s 102nd largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2018 (up from 107th in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0249% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0247% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

Uruguay was Russia’s 137th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2018 (down from 123rd in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0025% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0050% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

Uruguay was Russia’s 78th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2018 (just as in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0670% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0609% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

  • Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - a decrease of $492,513;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $225,976;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $102,121;
  • Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - a decrease of $55,352;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $19,116;

Russia’s Imports from Uruguay

The major share of Russian imports from Uruguay in the 1st quarter of 2018 (and in the 1st quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 94.57% of Russia’s total imports from Uruguay (93.91% in the 1st quarter of 2017);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 5.23% of Russia’s total imports from Uruguay (4.22% in the 1st quarter of 2017);
