Russia’s Trade with France

In the 3rd quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with France totaled $4,053,976,473, up 9.83% ($362,715,676) from the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to France in the 3rd quarter of 2018 totaled $1,887,507,042, up 55.51% ($673,761,926) from the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from France in the 3rd quarter of 2018 were $2,166,469,431, down 12.55% ($311,046,250) from the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade deficit with France in the 3rd quarter of 2018 was $278,962,389, a 77.93% decrease ($984,808,176) over the 3rd quarter of 2017.

France was Russia’s 12th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (just as in the 3rd quarter of 2017), accounting for 2.3560% of Russia’s total trade (down from 2.5250% in the 3rd quarter of 2017).

France was Russia’s 16th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (up from 19th in the 3rd quarter of 2017), accounting for 1.6823% of Russia’s total exports (up from 1.4219% in the 3rd quarter of 2017).

France was Russia’s 7th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (down from 6th in the 3rd quarter of 2017), accounting for 3.6183% of Russia’s total imports (down from 4.0730% in the 3rd quarter of 2017).

Russia’s Exports to France

The major share of Russian exports to France in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 87.78% of Russia’s total exports to France (82.64% in the 3rd quarter of 2017);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 3.49% of Russia’s total exports to France (2.42% in the 3rd quarter of 2017);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 3.07% of Russia’s total exports to France (3.72% in the 3rd quarter of 2017);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 1.77% of Russia’s total exports to France (5.74% in the 3rd quarter of 2017);
