Russia’s Trade with Indonesia

In the 3rd quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with Indonesia was $580,635,654, down 25.61% ($199,850,479) from the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to Indonesia in the 3rd quarter of 2018 were $162,667,890, down 2.72% ($4,553,017) from the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from Indonesia in the 3rd quarter of 2018 were $417,967,764, down 31.85% ($195,297,462) from the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade deficit with Indonesia in the 3rd quarter of 2018 was $255,299,874, a 42.76% decrease ($190,744,445) over the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Indonesia was Russia’s 44th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (down from 37th in the 3rd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.3374% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.5339% in the 3rd quarter of 2017).

Indonesia was Russia’s 69th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (down from 60th in the 3rd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.1450% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.1959% in the 3rd quarter of 2017).

Indonesia was Russia’s 30th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (down from 23rd in the 3rd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.6981% of Russia’s total imports (down from 1.0082% in the 3rd quarter of 2017).

Russia’s Exports to Indonesia

The major share of Russian exports to Indonesia in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 34.47% of Russia’s total exports to Indonesia (47.87% in the 3rd quarter of 2017);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 29.98% of Russia’s total exports to Indonesia (14.49% in the 3rd quarter of 2017);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 16.76% of Russia’s total exports to Indonesia (9.75% in the 3rd quarter of 2017);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 8.14% of Russia’s total exports to Indonesia (20.81% in the 3rd quarter of 2017);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 8.02% of Russia’s total exports to Indonesia (4.44% in the 3rd quarter of 2017);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.66% of Russia’s total exports to Indonesia (1.77% in the 3rd quarter of 2017).

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Indonesia in the 3rd quarter of 2018 over the 3rd quarter of 2017 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $24,613,506;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $14,097,032;
  • Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - a decrease of $7,528,729;

Russia’s Imports from Indonesia

The major share of Russian imports from Indonesia in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 16.26% of Russia’s total imports from Indonesia (9.72% in the 3rd quarter of 2017);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 13.62% of Russia’s total imports from Indonesia (10.04% in the 3rd quarter of 2017);
