Russia’s Trade with Tunisia

In the 3rd quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with Tunisia totaled $228,447,725, up 59.87% ($85,553,311) from the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to Tunisia in the 3rd quarter of 2018 totaled $194,234,949, up 85.23% ($89,375,977) from the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from Tunisia in the 3rd quarter of 2018 were $34,212,776, down 10.05% ($3,822,666) from the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade surplus with Tunisia in the 3rd quarter of 2018 was $160,022,173, a 139.47% increase ($93,198,643) over the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Tunisia was Russia’s 72nd largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (up from 75th in the 3rd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.1328% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0977% in the 3rd quarter of 2017).

Tunisia was Russia’s 62nd largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (up from 67th in the 3rd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.1731% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.1228% in the 3rd quarter of 2017).

Tunisia was Russia’s 81st largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (down from 75th in the 3rd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0571% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0625% in the 3rd quarter of 2017).

Russia’s Exports to Tunisia

The major share of Russian exports to Tunisia in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 54.62% of Russia’s total exports to Tunisia (61.61% in the 3rd quarter of 2017);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 31.04% of Russia’s total exports to Tunisia (9.40% in the 3rd quarter of 2017);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 6.91% of Russia’s total exports to Tunisia (0.61% in the 3rd quarter of 2017);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 4.73% of Russia’s total exports to Tunisia (25.68% in the 3rd quarter of 2017);

  • Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - an increase of $3,037,775;
  • Pulp of wood or of other fibrous cellulosic material; waste and scrap of paper or paperboard (HS code 47) - an increase of $1,033,656;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $1,031,477;
  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - an increase of $709,570.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Tunisia in the 3rd quarter of 2018 over the 3rd quarter of 2017 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $9,399,515;
  • Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - a decrease of $9,227,058;

Russia’s Imports from Tunisia

The major share of Russian imports from Tunisia in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:
