Russia’s Trade with Turkey

In the 3rd quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with Turkey totaled $6,100,448,540, up 15.11% ($800,618,892) from the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to Turkey in the 3rd quarter of 2018 totaled $5,089,009,913, up 13.99% ($624,712,478) from the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from Turkey in the 3rd quarter of 2018 totaled $1,011,438,627, up 21.05% ($175,906,414) from the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade surplus with Turkey in the 3rd quarter of 2018 was $4,077,571,286, a 12.37% increase ($448,806,064) over the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Turkey was Russia’s 8th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (down from 7th in the 3rd quarter of 2017), accounting for 3.5453% of Russia’s total trade (down from 3.6254% in the 3rd quarter of 2017).

Turkey was Russia’s 6th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (down from 5th in the 3rd quarter of 2017), accounting for 4.5358% of Russia’s total exports (down from 5.2300% in the 3rd quarter of 2017).

Turkey was Russia’s 13th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (up from 18th in the 3rd quarter of 2017), accounting for 1.6892% of Russia’s total imports (up from 1.3736% in the 3rd quarter of 2017).

Russia’s Exports to Turkey

The major share of Russian exports to Turkey in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 68.78% of Russia’s total exports to Turkey (58.73% in the 3rd quarter of 2017);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 18.22% of Russia’s total exports to Turkey (26.08% in the 3rd quarter of 2017);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 6.99% of Russia’s total exports to Turkey (8.88% in the 3rd quarter of 2017);
