Russia’s Trade with Ireland

In the 2nd quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Ireland was $453,734,629, down 10.97% ($55,890,678) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Ireland in the 2nd quarter of 2019 were $118,005,627, down 9.68% ($12,653,608) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Ireland in the 2nd quarter of 2019 were $335,729,002, down 11.41% ($43,237,070) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade deficit with Ireland in the 2nd quarter of 2019 was $217,723,375, a 12.32% decrease ($30,583,462) over the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Ireland was Russia’s 50th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (down from 49th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.2834% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.2982% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Ireland was Russia’s 69th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (up from 72nd in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.1171% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.1186% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Ireland was Russia’s 33rd largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (down from 32nd in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.5659% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.6242% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Ireland

The major share of Russian exports to Ireland in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 73.26% of Russia’s total exports to Ireland (63.52% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 18.19% of Russia’s total exports to Ireland (26.62% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 3.52% of Russia’s total exports to Ireland (1.73% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.86% of Russia’s total exports to Ireland (4.01% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Ireland in the 2nd quarter of 2019 over the 2nd quarter of 2018 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $13,893,344;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $3,404,291;
  • Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $1,674,164;
