Russia’s Trade with Indonesia

In the 3rd quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Indonesia totaled $648,704,704, up 11.72% ($68,069,050) from the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Indonesia in the 3rd quarter of 2019 totaled $241,595,533, up 48.52% ($78,927,643) from the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Indonesia in the 3rd quarter of 2019 were $407,109,171, down 2.60% ($10,858,593) from the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade deficit with Indonesia in the 3rd quarter of 2019 was $165,513,638, a 35.17% decrease ($89,786,236) over the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Indonesia was Russia’s 42nd largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (up from 44th in the 3rd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.3911% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.3374% in the 3rd quarter of 2018).

Indonesia was Russia’s 55th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (up from 69th in the 3rd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.2338% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.1450% in the 3rd quarter of 2018).

Indonesia was Russia’s 31st largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (down from 30th in the 3rd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.6509% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.6981% in the 3rd quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Indonesia

The major share of Russian exports to Indonesia in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 42.60% of Russia’s total exports to Indonesia (29.98% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 20.93% of Russia’s total exports to Indonesia (16.76% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 18.01% of Russia’s total exports to Indonesia (8.14% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 13.50% of Russia’s total exports to Indonesia (34.47% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Indonesia in the 3rd quarter of 2019 over the 3rd quarter of 2018 were recorded for the following product groups:
