Russia’s Trade with Portugal

In the 3rd quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Portugal was $300,721,156, down 13.46% ($46,787,613) from the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Portugal in the 3rd quarter of 2019 were $156,400,240, down 21.92% ($43,901,852) from the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Portugal in the 3rd quarter of 2019 were $144,320,916, down 1.96% ($2,885,761) from the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade surplus with Portugal in the 3rd quarter of 2019 was $12,079,324, a 77.25% decrease ($41,016,091) over the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Portugal was Russia’s 63rd largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (down from 57th in the 3rd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.1813% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.2020% in the 3rd quarter of 2018).

Portugal was Russia’s 64th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (down from 60th in the 3rd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.1514% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.1785% in the 3rd quarter of 2018).

Portugal was Russia’s 51st largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (down from 49th in the 3rd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.2307% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.2459% in the 3rd quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Portugal

The major share of Russian exports to Portugal in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 82.41% of Russia’s total exports to Portugal (78.62% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 7.09% of Russia’s total exports to Portugal (3.57% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 4.35% of Russia’s total exports to Portugal (3.57% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 4.23% of Russia’s total exports to Portugal (12.80% in the 3rd quarter of 2018).

  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $18,953,322;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - a decrease of $1,463,486;
