Russia’s Trade with Serbia

In the 3rd quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Serbia totaled $581,492,353, up 19.32% ($94,166,920) from the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Serbia in the 3rd quarter of 2019 totaled $335,390,736, up 46.95% ($107,158,760) from the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Serbia in the 3rd quarter of 2019 were $246,101,617, down 5.01% ($12,991,840) from the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade balance with Serbia went from a deficit of $30,861,481 in the 3rd quarter of 2018, to a surplus of $89,289,119 in the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Serbia was Russia’s 47th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (up from 48th in the 3rd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.3506% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.2832% in the 3rd quarter of 2018).

Serbia was Russia’s 49th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (up from 55th in the 3rd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.3246% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.2034% in the 3rd quarter of 2018).

Serbia was Russia’s 40th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (down from 36th in the 3rd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.3935% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.4327% in the 3rd quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Serbia

The major share of Russian exports to Serbia in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 39.42% of Russia’s total exports to Serbia (10.67% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 36.51% of Russia’s total exports to Serbia (42.77% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 9.12% of Russia’s total exports to Serbia (18.07% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 6.21% of Russia’s total exports to Serbia (7.89% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);

  • Ores, slag and ash (HS code 26) - an increase of $5,179,202;
  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - an increase of $4,251,744;
  • Tobacco and manufactured tobacco substitutes (HS code 24) - an increase of $2,800,655;
  • Plastics and articles thereof (HS code 39) - an increase of $1,084,097.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Serbia in the 3rd quarter of 2019 over the 3rd quarter of 2018 were recorded for the following product groups:
