Russia’s Trade with Sweden

In the 3rd quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Sweden totaled $1,175,095,892, up 9.95% ($106,325,720) from the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Sweden in the 3rd quarter of 2019 totaled $646,382,210, up 14.77% ($83,167,161) from the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Sweden in the 3rd quarter of 2019 totaled $528,713,682, up 4.58% ($23,158,559) from the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade surplus with Sweden in the 3rd quarter of 2019 was $117,668,528, a 104.07% increase ($60,008,602) over the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Sweden was Russia’s 29th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (up from 34th in the 3rd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.7084% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.6211% in the 3rd quarter of 2018).

Sweden was Russia’s 34th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (up from 37th in the 3rd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.6256% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.5020% in the 3rd quarter of 2018).

Sweden was Russia’s 25th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (up from 27th in the 3rd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.8453% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.8443% in the 3rd quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Sweden

The major share of Russian exports to Sweden in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 58.76% of Russia’s total exports to Sweden (65.73% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 24.88% of Russia’s total exports to Sweden (25.30% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
