Russia’s Trade with Vietnam

In the 3rd quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Vietnam was $1,391,484,847, down 13.57% ($218,508,969) from the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Vietnam in the 3rd quarter of 2019 were $350,596,854, down 36.33% ($200,023,530) from the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Vietnam in the 3rd quarter of 2019 were $1,040,887,993, down 1.74% ($18,485,439) from the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade deficit with Vietnam in the 3rd quarter of 2019 was $690,291,139, a 35.68% increase ($181,538,091) over the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Vietnam was Russia’s 23rd largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (down from 22nd in the 3rd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.8389% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.9357% in the 3rd quarter of 2018).

Vietnam was Russia’s 47th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (down from 39th in the 3rd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.3393% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.4908% in the 3rd quarter of 2018).

Vietnam was Russia’s 13th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (down from 12th in the 3rd quarter of 2018), accounting for 1.6641% of Russia’s total imports (down from 1.7693% in the 3rd quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Vietnam

The major share of Russian exports to Vietnam in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 45.73% of Russia’s total exports to Vietnam (14.03% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 30.49% of Russia’s total exports to Vietnam (41.89% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 9.37% of Russia’s total exports to Vietnam (3.08% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 6.90% of Russia’s total exports to Vietnam (4.63% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
