Russia’s Trade with Qatar

In the 4th quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Qatar totaled $29,061,350, up 120.11% ($15,858,289) from the 4th quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Qatar in the 4th quarter of 2019 totaled $20,683,316, up 271.62% ($15,117,602) from the 4th quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Qatar in the 4th quarter of 2019 totaled $8,378,034, up 9.70% ($740,687) from the 4th quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade balance with Qatar went from a deficit of $2,071,633 in the 4th quarter of 2018, to a surplus of $12,305,282 in the 4th quarter of 2019.

Qatar was Russia’s 113th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2019 (up from 138th in the 4th quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0162% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0071% in the 4th quarter of 2018).

Qatar was Russia’s 103rd largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2019 (up from 139th in the 4th quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0185% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0045% in the 4th quarter of 2018).

Qatar was Russia’s 101st largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2019 (down from 100th in the 4th quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0123% of Russia’s total imports (just as in the 4th quarter of 2018).

  • Meat and edible meat offal (HS code 02) - an increase of $283,609;

  • Tobacco and manufactured tobacco substitutes (HS code 24) - an increase of $199,730;

  • Edible vegetables and certain roots and tubers (HS code 07) - an increase of $73,022.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Qatar in the 4th quarter of 2019 over the 4th quarter of 2018 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - a decrease of $472,402;
  • Miscellaneous chemical products (HS code 38) - a decrease of $236,863;
  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - a decrease of $227,427;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $168,783;
  • Glass and glassware (HS code 70) - a decrease of $99,140;
  • Coffee, tea, maté and spices (HS code 09) - a decrease of $88,832;
  • Tanning or dyeing extracts; dyes, pigments, paints, varnishes, putty and mastics (HS code 32) - a decrease of $86,242.
