Russia’s Trade with Albania

In the 2nd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Albania totaled $29,690,078, up 74.77% ($12,701,799) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Albania in the 2nd quarter of 2020 totaled $27,849,544, up 109.54% ($14,559,043) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Albania in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $1,840,534, down 50.23% ($1,857,244) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade surplus with Albania in the 2nd quarter of 2020 was $26,009,010, a 171.13% increase ($16,416,287) over the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Albania was Russia’s 107th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (up from 126th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0243% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0106% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Albania was Russia’s 92nd largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (up from 114th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0398% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0132% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Albania was Russia’s 119th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 115th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0035% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0062% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Russia’s Exports to Albania

The major share of Russian exports to Albania in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 39.05% of Russia’s total exports to Albania (38.03% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 26.78% of Russia’s total exports to Albania (18.14% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 22.88% of Russia’s total exports to Albania (24.53% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 7.74% of Russia’s total exports to Albania (14.52% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);

  • Sugars and sugar confectionery (HS code 17) - an increase of $3,396,622;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $3,112,411;
  • Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - an increase of $1,785,391;
  • Glass and glassware (HS code 70) - an increase of $648,655;
  • Cereals (HS code 10) - an increase of $511,037;
  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - an increase of $262,501.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Albania in the 2nd quarter of 2020 over the 2nd quarter of 2019 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - a decrease of $117,532;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - a decrease of $105,540.

Russia’s Imports from Albania

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 1.60% of Russia’s total imports from Albania (0.00% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 0.05% of Russia’s total imports from Albania (8.59% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).
