Russia’s Trade with Argentina

In the 2nd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Argentina was $258,200,656, down 33.30% ($128,933,675) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Argentina in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $18,091,270, down 86.36% ($114,527,735) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Argentina in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $240,109,386, down 5.66% ($14,405,940) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade deficit with Argentina in the 2nd quarter of 2020 was $222,018,116, a 82.14% increase ($100,121,795) over the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Argentina was Russia’s 65th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 58th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.2116% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.2418% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Argentina was Russia’s 104th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 66th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0259% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.1316% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Argentina was Russia’s 37th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (up from 39th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.4610% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.4290% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Russia’s Exports to Argentina

The major share of Russian exports to Argentina in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 68.60% of Russia’s total exports to Argentina (9.74% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 14.39% of Russia’s total exports to Argentina (85.75% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
