Russia’s Trade with Azerbaijan
In the 2nd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Azerbaijan was $707,337,746, down 15.12% ($125,968,214) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.
Russia’s exports to Azerbaijan in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $459,503,246, down 17.54% ($97,709,642) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.
Russia’s imports from Azerbaijan in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $247,834,500, down 10.24% ($28,258,572) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.
Russia’s trade surplus with Azerbaijan in the 2nd quarter of 2020 was $211,668,746, a 24.71% decrease ($69,451,070) over the 2nd quarter of 2019.
Azerbaijan was Russia’s 32nd largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (up from 36th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.5798% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.5205% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).
Azerbaijan was Russia’s 29th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (up from 39th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.6572% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.5530% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).
Azerbaijan was Russia’s 36th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (up from 37th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.4758% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.4654% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).
Russia’s Exports to Azerbaijan
The major share of Russian exports to Azerbaijan in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:
- Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 32.35% of Russia’s total exports to Azerbaijan (19.56% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
- Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 19.66% of Russia’s total exports to Azerbaijan (20.64% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
- Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 14.45% of Russia’s total exports to Azerbaijan (15.32% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
- Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 13.13% of Russia’s total exports to Azerbaijan (11.18% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
