Russia’s Trade with Egypt

In the 2nd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Egypt was $658,916,958, down 55.04% ($806,627,725) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Egypt in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $459,946,006, down 64.11% ($821,653,931) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Egypt in the 2nd quarter of 2020 totaled $198,970,952, up 8.17% ($15,026,206) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade surplus with Egypt in the 2nd quarter of 2020 was $260,975,054, a 76.22% decrease ($836,680,137) over the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Egypt was Russia’s 35th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 23rd in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.5401% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.9155% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Egypt was Russia’s 28th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 19th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.6578% of Russia’s total exports (down from 1.2719% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Egypt was Russia’s 41st largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (up from 48th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.3820% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.3101% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Russia’s Exports to Egypt

The major share of Russian exports to Egypt in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 30.95% of Russia’s total exports to Egypt (14.72% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 30.88% of Russia’s total exports to Egypt (20.58% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 15.33% of Russia’s total exports to Egypt (6.81% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
