Russia’s Trade with Singapore

In the 2nd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Singapore was $333,742,913, down 58.51% ($470,655,205) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Singapore in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $210,452,809, down 68.73% ($462,487,627) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Singapore in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $123,290,104, down 6.21% ($8,167,578) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade surplus with Singapore in the 2nd quarter of 2020 was $87,162,705, a 83.90% decrease ($454,320,049) over the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Singapore was Russia’s 56th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 37th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.2735% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.5025% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Singapore was Russia’s 52nd largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 31st in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.3010% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.6678% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Singapore was Russia’s 51st largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (up from 54th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.2367% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.2216% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Russia’s Exports to Singapore

The major share of Russian exports to Singapore in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 95.52% of Russia’s total exports to Singapore (92.34% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 2.13% of Russia’s total exports to Singapore (0.38% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 1.29% of Russia’s total exports to Singapore (6.61% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Singapore in the 2nd quarter of 2020 over the 2nd quarter of 2019 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Lead and articles thereof (HS code 78) - an increase of $2,945,824;
  • Essential oils and resinoids; perfumery, cosmetic or toilet preparations (HS code 33) - an increase of $1,858,511.
