Russia’s Trade with Vietnam

In the 2nd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Vietnam totaled $1,206,781,000, up 0.95% ($11,305,244) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Vietnam in the 2nd quarter of 2020 totaled $417,860,310, up 27.72% ($90,702,128) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Vietnam in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $788,920,690, down 9.14% ($79,396,884) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade deficit with Vietnam in the 2nd quarter of 2020 was $371,060,380, a 31.43% decrease ($170,099,012) over the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Vietnam was Russia’s 21st largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (up from 30th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.9891% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.7468% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Vietnam was Russia’s 36th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (up from 46th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.5976% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.3247% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Vietnam was Russia’s 15th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (up from 18th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 1.5146% of Russia’s total imports (up from 1.4637% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Russia’s Exports to Vietnam

The major share of Russian exports to Vietnam in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 28.00% of Russia’s total exports to Vietnam (5.50% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 17.54% of Russia’s total exports to Vietnam (21.82% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
