Russia’s Trade with Luxembourg

In the 3rd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Luxembourg totaled $58,528,865, up 4.73% ($2,645,207) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Luxembourg in the 3rd quarter of 2020 totaled $18,318,449, up 82.33% ($8,271,572) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Luxembourg in the 3rd quarter of 2020 were $40,210,416, down 12.27% ($5,626,365) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade deficit with Luxembourg in the 3rd quarter of 2020 was $21,891,967, a 38.83% decrease ($13,897,937) over the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Luxembourg was Russia’s 94th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (up from 102nd in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0429% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0337% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

Luxembourg was Russia’s 106th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (up from 124th in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0233% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0097% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

Luxembourg was Russia’s 75th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (up from 76th in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0694% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0733% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

Russia’s Exports to Luxembourg

The major share of Russian exports to Luxembourg in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 10.94% of Russia’s total exports to Luxembourg (25.68% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.52% of Russia’s total exports to Luxembourg (1.08% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 1.41% of Russia’s total exports to Luxembourg (3.53% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);

  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - an increase of $172,248;
  • Articles of iron or steel (HS code 73) - an increase of $135,254;
  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - an increase of $71,853;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $60,124.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Luxembourg in the 3rd quarter of 2020 over the 3rd quarter of 2019 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $712,051;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - a decrease of $273,041;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - a decrease of $157,038;
  • Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - a decrease of $75,123.

Russia’s Imports from Luxembourg
