Russia’s Trade with Montenegro

In the 3rd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Montenegro was $3,130,605, down 77.28% ($10,648,137) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Montenegro in the 3rd quarter of 2020 were $1,089,614, down 85.48% ($6,412,639) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Montenegro in the 3rd quarter of 2020 were $2,040,991, down 67.48% ($4,235,498) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade balance with Montenegro went from a surplus of $1,225,764 in the 3rd quarter of 2019, to a deficit of $951,377 in the 3rd quarter of 2020.

Montenegro was Russia’s 156th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (down from 138th in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0023% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0083% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

Montenegro was Russia’s 158th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (down from 130th in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0014% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0073% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

Montenegro was Russia’s 120th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (down from 104th in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0035% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0100% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

Russia’s Exports to Montenegro

The major share of Russian exports to Montenegro in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 71.54% of Russia’s total exports to Montenegro (11.98% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 15.11% of Russia’s total exports to Montenegro (3.98% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 3.37% of Russia’s total exports to Montenegro (0.12% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 0.24% of Russia’s total exports to Montenegro (73.15% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 0.00% of Russia’s total exports to Montenegro (9.00% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

  • Ceramic products (HS code 69) - an increase of $16,431;
  • Soap, organic surface-active agents, washing preparations, lubricating preparations, artificial waxes, prepared waxes, polishing or scouring preparations, candles and similar articles, modeling pastes, "dental waxes" and dental preparations with a basis of plaster (HS code 34) - an increase of $12,788;
  • Beverages, spirits and vinegar (HS code 22) - an increase of $7,063;
  • Other made up textile articles; sets; worn clothing and worn textile articles; rags (HS code 63) - an increase of $6,859.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Montenegro in the 3rd quarter of 2020 over the 3rd quarter of 2019 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - a decrease of $5,456,780;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $675,274;
  • Tobacco and manufactured tobacco substitutes (HS code 24) - a decrease of $118,110;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $78,363;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - a decrease of $39,260;
  • Man-made filaments (HS code 54) - a decrease of $32,729;
  • Articles of iron or steel (HS code 73) - a decrease of $28,574;
  • Miscellaneous edible preparations (HS code 21) - a decrease of $12,138;
  • Ships, boats and floating structures (HS code 89) - a decrease of $10,314;
  • Railway or tramway locomotives, rolling-stock and parts thereof; railway or tramway track fixtures and fittings and parts thereof; mechanical (including electro-mechanical) traffic signalling equipment of all kinds (HS code 86) - a decrease of $8,477;
  • Articles of stone, plaster, cement, asbestos, mica or similar materials (HS code 68) - a decrease of $8,330;
  • Toys, games and sports requisites; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 95) - a decrease of $7,826.

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 58.11% of Russia’s total imports from Montenegro (91.04% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 14.96% of Russia’s total imports from Montenegro (2.38% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 2.51% of Russia’s total imports from Montenegro (0.00% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).
