Russia’s Trade with Peru

In the 3rd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Peru was $112,608,749, down 13.85% ($18,100,722) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Peru in the 3rd quarter of 2020 were $72,612,201, down 20.76% ($19,028,240) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Peru in the 3rd quarter of 2020 totaled $39,996,548, up 2.37% ($927,518) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade surplus with Peru in the 3rd quarter of 2020 was $32,615,653, a 37.96% decrease ($19,955,758) over the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Peru was Russia’s 79th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (just as in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0825% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0788% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

Peru was Russia’s 74th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (up from 78th in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0923% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0887% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

Peru was Russia’s 76th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (up from 78th in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0691% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0625% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

Russia’s Exports to Peru

The major share of Russian exports to Peru in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 78.91% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (39.06% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 12.62% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (0.95% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 3.03% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (13.86% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 2.82% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (3.85% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.66% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (29.01% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);

  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - an increase of $8,502,017;
  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - an increase of $675,602;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - an increase of $524,904;
  • Plastics and articles thereof (HS code 39) - an increase of $390,262;
  • Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - an increase of $269,684.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Peru in the 3rd quarter of 2020 over the 3rd quarter of 2019 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $23,919,993;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $10,418,756;
  • Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $9,888,610;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $2,194,739;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - a decrease of $710,455;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - a decrease of $491,141;
  • Tools, implements, cutlery, spoons and forks, of base metal; parts thereof of base metal (HS code 82) - a decrease of $464,326;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - a decrease of $412,291;
  • Miscellaneous chemical products (HS code 38) - a decrease of $306,202;
  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - a decrease of $256,084.

Russia’s Imports from Peru

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 5.88% of Russia’s total imports from Peru (6.27% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 4.32% of Russia’s total imports from Peru (0.10% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
