Russia’s Trade with Serbia

In the 3rd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Serbia was $395,394,741, down 32.00% ($186,097,612) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Serbia in the 3rd quarter of 2020 were $160,362,146, down 52.19% ($175,028,590) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Serbia in the 3rd quarter of 2020 were $235,032,595, down 4.50% ($11,069,022) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade balance with Serbia went from a surplus of $89,289,119 in the 3rd quarter of 2019, to a deficit of $74,670,449 in the 3rd quarter of 2020.

Serbia was Russia’s 53rd largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (down from 47th in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.2895% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.3506% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

Serbia was Russia’s 57th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (down from 49th in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.2039% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.3246% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

Serbia was Russia’s 38th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (up from 40th in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.4058% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.3935% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

Russia’s Exports to Serbia

The major share of Russian exports to Serbia in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 28.74% of Russia’s total exports to Serbia (36.51% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 21.46% of Russia’s total exports to Serbia (9.12% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 15.70% of Russia’s total exports to Serbia (6.21% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 15.30% of Russia’s total exports to Serbia (4.69% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 10.46% of Russia’s total exports to Serbia (39.42% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);

  • Tobacco and manufactured tobacco substitutes (HS code 24) - an increase of $2,902,654;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $2,594,453;
  • Lead and articles thereof (HS code 78) - an increase of $1,102,028;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - an increase of $1,040,385;
  • Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - an increase of $762,310.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Serbia in the 3rd quarter of 2020 over the 3rd quarter of 2019 were recorded for the following product groups:
