Russia’s Trade with Slovenia

In the 3rd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Slovenia was $272,691,334, down 32.88% ($133,586,440) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Slovenia in the 3rd quarter of 2020 were $39,295,898, down 66.62% ($78,439,680) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Slovenia in the 3rd quarter of 2020 were $233,395,436, down 19.11% ($55,146,760) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade deficit with Slovenia in the 3rd quarter of 2020 was $194,099,538, a 13.64% increase ($23,292,920) over the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Slovenia was Russia’s 62nd largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (down from 56th in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.1997% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.2449% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

Slovenia was Russia’s 87th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (down from 72nd in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0500% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.1139% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

Slovenia was Russia’s 39th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (down from 37th in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.4030% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.4613% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

Russia’s Exports to Slovenia

The major share of Russian exports to Slovenia in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 54.83% of Russia’s total exports to Slovenia (91.07% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 24.19% of Russia’s total exports to Slovenia (4.16% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 9.81% of Russia’s total exports to Slovenia (1.60% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 4.41% of Russia’s total exports to Slovenia (1.10% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 2.44% of Russia’s total exports to Slovenia (0.81% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 1.35% of Russia’s total exports to Slovenia (0.34% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Slovenia in the 3rd quarter of 2020 over the 3rd quarter of 2019 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - an increase of $2,069,370;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - an increase of $572,179;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $405,337;
  • Glass and glassware (HS code 70) - an increase of $239,778;
  • Oil seeds and oleaginous fruits; miscellaneous grains, seeds and fruits; industrial or medicinal plants; straw and fodder (HS code 12) - an increase of $144,001;
  • Articles of iron or steel (HS code 73) - an increase of $142,318;
  • Furniture; bedding, mattresses, mattress supports, cushions and similar stuffed furnishings; lamps and lighting fittings, not elsewhere specified or included; illuminated sign illuminated nameplates and the like; prefabricated buildings (HS code 94) - an increase of $135,824;
  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - an increase of $130,366;
  • Plastics and articles thereof (HS code 39) - an increase of $122,916;
  • Prepared feathers and down and articles made of feathers or of down; artificial flowers; articles of human hair (HS code 67) - an increase of $122,078.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Slovenia in the 3rd quarter of 2020 over the 3rd quarter of 2019 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $85,676,994;
  • Pharmaceutical products (HS code 30) - a decrease of $995,051;
  • Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - a decrease of $298,252;
  • Toys, games and sports requisites; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 95) - a decrease of $240,619;
  • Products of animal origin, not elsewhere specified or included (HS code 05) - a decrease of $188,687;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - a decrease of $183,562;
  • Tools, implements, cutlery, spoons and forks, of base metal; parts thereof of base metal (HS code 82) - a decrease of $176,583;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $166,116.

Russia’s Imports from Slovenia

  • Miscellaneous chemical products (HS code 38) - an increase of $1,871,056;
