Russia’s Trade with Cambodia

In the 1st quarter of 2021, Russia’s trade with Cambodia was $52,860,530, down 8.32% ($4,800,015) from the 1st quarter of 2020.

Russia’s exports to Cambodia in the 1st quarter of 2021 totaled $3,154,946, up 235.55% ($2,214,705) from the 1st quarter of 2020.

Russia’s imports from Cambodia in the 1st quarter of 2021 were $49,705,584, down 12.37% ($7,014,720) from the 1st quarter of 2020.

Russia’s trade deficit with Cambodia in the 1st quarter of 2021 was $46,550,638, a 16.55% decrease ($9,229,425) over the 1st quarter of 2020.

Cambodia was Russia’s 101st largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2021 (down from 89th in the 1st quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.0342% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0406% in the 1st quarter of 2020).

Cambodia was Russia’s 142nd largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2021 (up from 150th in the 1st quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.0034% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0011% in the 1st quarter of 2020).

Cambodia was Russia’s 76th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2021 (down from 69th in the 1st quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.0798% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.1067% in the 1st quarter of 2020).

Russia’s Exports to Cambodia

The major share of Russian exports to Cambodia in the 1st quarter of 2021 (and in the 1st quarter of 2020) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 30.29% of Russia’s total exports to Cambodia (3.85% in the 1st quarter of 2020);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 14.06% of Russia’s total exports to Cambodia (35.97% in the 1st quarter of 2020);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 2.55% of Russia’s total exports to Cambodia (17.53% in the 1st quarter of 2020);

  • Beverages, spirits and vinegar (HS code 22) - an increase of $319,909;
  • Preparations of cereals, flour, starch or milk; bakers’ wares (HS code 19) - an increase of $277,743;
  • Miscellaneous edible preparations (HS code 21) - an increase of $138,665;
  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - an increase of $129,985;
  • Tobacco and manufactured tobacco substitutes (HS code 24) - an increase of $92,307;
  • Cocoa and cocoa preparations (HS code 18) - an increase of $43,268;
  • Meat and edible meat offal (HS code 02) - an increase of $43,241;
  • Other made up textile articles; sets; worn clothing and worn textile articles; rags (HS code 63) - an increase of $27,235;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $22,751;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - an increase of $14,815.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Cambodia in the 1st quarter of 2021 over the 1st quarter of 2020 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $67,735;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - a decrease of $62,222;
  • Pharmaceutical products (HS code 30) - a decrease of $38,199;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - a decrease of $37,280;
  • Furniture; bedding, mattresses, mattress supports, cushions and similar stuffed furnishings; lamps and lighting fittings, not elsewhere specified or included; illuminated sign illuminated nameplates and the like; prefabricated buildings (HS code 94) - a decrease of $31,697.

Russia’s Imports from Cambodia

The major share of Russian imports from Cambodia in the 1st quarter of 2021 (and in the 1st quarter of 2020) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 91.99% of Russia’s total imports from Cambodia (95.01% in the 1st quarter of 2020);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 2.85% of Russia’s total imports from Cambodia (0.96% in the 1st quarter of 2020);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 0.93% of Russia’s total imports from Cambodia (1.76% in the 1st quarter of 2020).

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Cambodia in the 1st quarter of 2021 over the 1st quarter of 2020 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - an increase of $325,975.

The largest declines in Russia’s imports from Cambodia in the 1st quarter of 2021 over the 1st quarter of 2020 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Footwear, gaiters and the like; parts of such articles (HS code 64) - a decrease of $6,434,296;
  • Articles of apparel and clothing accessories, not knitted or crocheted (HS code 62) - a decrease of $2,603,765;
  • Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $466,843.
