Russia’s Trade with Malta

In the 2nd quarter of 2021, Russia’s trade with Malta totaled $709,995,127, up 61.12% ($269,330,389) from the 2nd quarter of 2020.

Russia’s exports to Malta in the 2nd quarter of 2021 totaled $698,060,827, up 61.21% ($265,039,669) from the 2nd quarter of 2020.

Russia’s imports from Malta in the 2nd quarter of 2021 totaled $11,934,300, up 56.13% ($4,290,720) from the 2nd quarter of 2020.

Russia’s trade surplus with Malta in the 2nd quarter of 2021 was $686,126,527, a 61.30% increase ($260,748,949) over the 2nd quarter of 2020.

Malta was Russia’s 44th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2021 (up from 45th in the 2nd quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.3752% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.3612% in the 2nd quarter of 2020).

Malta was Russia’s 33rd largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2021 (just as in the 2nd quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.6069% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.6193% in the 2nd quarter of 2020).

Malta was Russia’s 100th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2021 (down from 98th in the 2nd quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.0161% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0147% in the 2nd quarter of 2020).

Russia’s Exports to Malta

The major share of Russian exports to Malta in the 2nd quarter of 2021 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2020) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 94.96% of Russia’s total exports to Malta (98.55% in the 2nd quarter of 2020);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 4.95% of Russia’s total exports to Malta (0.16% in the 2nd quarter of 2020);

Russia’s Imports from Malta

The major share of Russian imports from Malta in the 2nd quarter of 2021 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2020) was accounted for the following product types:
