Russia’s Trade with Nigeria

In the 2nd quarter of 2021, Russia’s trade with Nigeria totaled $181,464,396, up 68.07% ($73,496,311) from the 2nd quarter of 2020.

Russia’s exports to Nigeria in the 2nd quarter of 2021 totaled $170,001,720, up 77.83% ($74,404,361) from the 2nd quarter of 2020.

Russia’s imports from Nigeria in the 2nd quarter of 2021 were $11,462,676, down 7.34% ($908,050) from the 2nd quarter of 2020.

Russia’s trade surplus with Nigeria in the 2nd quarter of 2021 was $158,539,044, a 90.49% increase ($75,312,411) over the 2nd quarter of 2020.

Nigeria was Russia’s 77th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2021 (down from 75th in the 2nd quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.0959% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0885% in the 2nd quarter of 2020).

Nigeria was Russia’s 63rd largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2021 (up from 66th in the 2nd quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.1478% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.1367% in the 2nd quarter of 2020).

Nigeria was Russia’s 102nd largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2021 (down from 92nd in the 2nd quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.0154% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0237% in the 2nd quarter of 2020).

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Nigeria in the 2nd quarter of 2021 over the 2nd quarter of 2020 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Edible fruit and nuts; peel of citrus fruit or melons (HS code 08) - an increase of $264,837;
