Russia’s Trade with Indonesia

In the 4th quarter of 2021, Russia’s trade with Indonesia totaled $1,046,833,011, up 54.08% ($367,425,761) from the 4th quarter of 2020.

Russia’s exports to Indonesia in the 4th quarter of 2021 totaled $292,786,145, up 73.19% ($123,734,874) from the 4th quarter of 2020.

Russia’s imports from Indonesia in the 4th quarter of 2021 totaled $754,046,866, up 47.75% ($243,690,887) from the 4th quarter of 2020.

Russia’s trade deficit with Indonesia in the 4th quarter of 2021 was $461,260,721, a 35.15% increase ($119,956,013) over the 4th quarter of 2020.

Indonesia was Russia’s 41st largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2021 (up from 44th in the 4th quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.4504% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.4192% in the 4th quarter of 2020).

Indonesia was Russia’s 59th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2021 (up from 60th in the 4th quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.1944% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.1790% in the 4th quarter of 2020).

Indonesia was Russia’s 21st largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2021 (up from 27th in the 4th quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.9213% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.7546% in the 4th quarter of 2020).

Russia’s Exports to Indonesia

The major share of Russian exports to Indonesia in the 4th quarter of 2021 (and in the 4th quarter of 2020) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 39.30% of Russia’s total exports to Indonesia (30.91% in the 4th quarter of 2020);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 34.76% of Russia’s total exports to Indonesia (25.49% in the 4th quarter of 2020);

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Indonesia in the 4th quarter of 2021 over the 4th quarter of 2020 were recorded for the following product groups:
