Russia’s Trade with Switzerland

In the 4th quarter of 2021, Russia’s trade with Switzerland totaled $1,804,292,253, up 8.33% ($138,699,198) from the 4th quarter of 2020.

Russia’s exports to Switzerland in the 4th quarter of 2021 totaled $820,080,184, up 4.96% ($38,727,651) from the 4th quarter of 2020.

Russia’s imports from Switzerland in the 4th quarter of 2021 totaled $984,212,069, up 11.31% ($99,971,547) from the 4th quarter of 2020.

Russia’s trade deficit with Switzerland in the 4th quarter of 2021 was $164,131,885, a 59.52% increase ($61,243,896) over the 4th quarter of 2020.

Switzerland was Russia’s 25th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2021 (down from 20th in the 4th quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.7762% of Russia’s total trade (down from 1.0278% in the 4th quarter of 2020).

Switzerland was Russia’s 37th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2021 (down from 25th in the 4th quarter of 2020), accounting for 0.5446% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.8275% in the 4th quarter of 2020).

Switzerland was Russia’s 18th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2021 (just as in the 4th quarter of 2020), accounting for 1.2025% of Russia’s total imports (down from 1.3074% in the 4th quarter of 2020).

The major share of Russian exports to Switzerland in the 4th quarter of 2021 (and in the 4th quarter of 2020) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Precious metals and stones (HS code 71) - 27.54% of Russia’s total exports to Switzerland (17.32% in the 4th quarter of 2020);
