The major trading partners of Russia in Africa in the 4th quarter of 2017:

The top five Russia’s trade partners in Africa in the 4th quarter of 2017 were Egypt (1.6242% of Russia’s total foreign trade), Algeria (1.0382%), Morocco (0.3244%), South Africa (0.1195%), and Sudan (0.0894%);

The top five Russia’s export markets in Africa in the 4th quarter of 2017 were Egypt (2.5579% of Russia’s total exports), Algeria (1.6849%), Morocco (0.3318%), Sudan (0.1452%), and Nigeria (0.1179%);

The top five Russia’s import suppliers from Africa in the 4th quarter of 2017 were Morocco (0.3127% of Russia’s total imports), South Africa (0.2317%), Egypt (0.1300%), Cote d’Ivoire (0.0799%), and Tunisia (0.0480%).

The most notable changes in Russia's trade with the countries of Africa in the 4th quarter of 2017 over the 4th quarter of 2016:

  • The share of Egypt in Russia’s total exports rose from 1.6645% in the 4th quarter of the 2016 to 2.5579% in the 4th quarter of the 2017;
  • The share of Ethiopia in Russia’s total exports declined 7.3-fold from 0.1997% in the 4th quarter of the 2016 to 0.0274% in the 4th quarter of the 2017;
  • The share of Cote d’Ivoire in Russia’s total exports declined 3.8-fold from 0.0357% in the 4th quarter of the 2016 to 0.0094% in the 4th quarter of the 2017;
  • The share of Mozambique in Russia’s total exports rose 5.3-fold from 0.0057% in the 4th quarter of the 2016 to 0.0304% in the 4th quarter of the 2017;
  • The share of Djibouti in Russia’s total exports rose 9.9-fold from 0.0008% in the 4th quarter of the 2016 to 0.0079% in the 4th quarter of the 2017;
  • The share of Tanzania in Russia’s total imports declined 3.8-fold from 0.0323% in the 4th quarter of the 2016 to 0.0084% in the 4th quarter of the 2017.
