The top five Russia’s trade partners in Africa in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were Algeria (0.5537% of Russia’s total foreign trade), Egypt (0.5401%), South Africa (0.2285%), Morocco (0.2097%), and Tunisia (0.0972%);

The top five Russia’s export markets in Africa in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were Algeria (0.9630% of Russia’s total exports), Egypt (0.6578%), Morocco (0.2954%), Tunisia (0.1445%), and South Africa (0.1378%);

The top five Russia’s import suppliers from Africa in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were Egypt (0.3820% of Russia’s total imports), South Africa (0.3502%), Morocco (0.0947%), Cote d’Ivoire (0.0884%), and Kenya (0.0495%).

The most notable changes in Russia's trade with the countries of Africa in the 2nd quarter of 2020 over the 2nd quarter of 2019:

  • The share of Egypt in Russia’s total exports declined from 1.2719% in the 2nd quarter of the 2019 to 0.6578% in the 2nd quarter of the 2020;
  • The share of Algeria in Russia’s total exports rose 2.4-fold from 0.3942% in the 2nd quarter of the 2019 to 0.9630% in the 2nd quarter of the 2020;
  • The share of Tanzania in Russia’s total exports rose 5.8-fold from 0.0070% in the 2nd quarter of the 2019 to 0.0404% in the 2nd quarter of the 2020;
  • The share of Mozambique in Russia’s total exports rose 69.0-fold from 0.0002% in the 2nd quarter of the 2019 to 0.0138% in the 2nd quarter of the 2020;
  • The share of Morocco in Russia’s total imports declined from 0.1809% in the 2nd quarter of the 2019 to 0.0947% in the 2nd quarter of the 2020;
  • The share of Nigeria in Russia’s total imports rose 3.8-fold from 0.0062% in the 2nd quarter of the 2019 to 0.0237% in the 2nd quarter of the 2020.
